How to Claim?

Firstly, call Zurich’s claims department to notify them regarding the accident. Then, report the accident to the police to secure a conviction against the offender. If there are any claims against you from the third party, immediately inform Zurich’s claims department and provide them with proof.

After making the necessary report, you will have to complete a Claim Form and submit it to Zurich within 21 days from the notified day together with any relevant documents. Finally, send your motorcycle to any of Zurich’s motorcycle repair shop for them to inspect and give approval for repair.

Things to Know

The documents you will need to provide to make a claim are:

  • Motorcycle license

  • Identity card

  • Police report

  • Repair quotation

  • Registration card

  • Road tax, etc.

If you are not physically disabled or hospitalised from the accident, you have to report the claim within 7 days to be able to get a claim from Zurich. However, in the unlikely event of an accident which causes you to be physically disabled or hospitalised, you have 30 days to report to Zurich and get the claim.

Zurich’s motorcycle insurance only provides coverage for your motorcycle in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei in accordance to Malaysia’s law. If you wish to ride your motorcycle to Singapore, you are required to have coverage against Legal Liability to Pillion (LLP) in accordance to Singapore’s law. However, LLP is not covered by this policy so you will have to purchase Endorsement 108 which provides coverage for your liability for death or bodily injury of pillion.

Zurich will not provide insurance coverage if:

  • You or your authorised rider does not have a valid motorcycle license

  • You or your authorised rider is under the influence of alcohol, drugs and other intoxicating substances which deems you incapable of having control of your motorcycle

  • You or your authorised rider uses your motorcycle for an unlawful purpose

  • You or your authorised rider uses your motorcycle for racing purposes

  • You or your authorised rider did not take precautions to ensure your motorcycle does not get further damages after the incident and before any repairs has been made

  • You or anyone on your behalf has made a fraudulent or exaggerated claim to get benefits from this policy

  • An unauthorised rider caused your motorcycle to be damaged

You cancel your policy with Zurich at any time you want by giving a written notice and return the Original Certificate of Insurance (CI) or the Statutory Declaration if the CI is lost. You may be entitled to get a refund for your premium based on the short period rates if no claims has been made before the cancellation.
