Christmas is a festive season about giving and we may end up spending more than what we expected *cries in minimum wages*. But, what if we told you there are some life hacks that could save you some extra ka-ching (cash) when celebrating Christmas. Welcome my friend to KIAMSIAP Christmas celebrations, here are some tips:

What's covered in this article?

1. Regifting

We know regifting seems like an insincere gesture but come on lah folks it’s 2021, it’s time to move on from the stereotypes. If you have any unwanted presents that will be discarded or stashed away in a cupboard, why not give that item to someone else? Plus, you’ll be saving *ka-ching* and giving someone a useful item.

2. DIY Christmas Recycled Decorations

Don’t buy a Christmas tree, instead use recyclable materials to create your own Christmas tree. Just take a look at some of them. Aren’t they gorgeous? You can use empty bottles, old books, egg cartons, discarded woods, toilet rolls and so many interesting materials to create a magnificent looking Christmas tree for your celebration this year. So go ahead and flex that creative brain of yours!

3. Mix & Match Your Christmas Clothing

One way to look Christmassy in a kiamsiap version is to either thrift or mix&match your old clothes. Get something that’s plain and simple, which you can easily mix and match with your other jeans, pants or shirts. It’s all about the true Christmas spirit, not dress to impress.

But, let’s say in the “rare cases” that you fall victim to peer pressure and temptation to buy the fanciest and trending Christmas fashion that you came across in town or online, then you can consider getting a credit card that gives up to 10% cashback.

4. Have a potluck gathering instead!

Having a Christmas potluck gathering is more ideal and economical. Because everyone gets to chip in different dishes, travelling to only 1 house, having more activities and fun games together. Win-win for everyone. But, since we're in the middle pandemic now, you might want to make it small and follow the SOP.

5. Celebrate Christmas at church

This is probably the best and most money-saving Kiamsiap Christmas hack you can do. Not only do you get to sing carols with your entire community, but you also get free food from the church, able to donate to the needy and be able to bond with your friends, family members, relatives and your local community.

So there you have it…

5 life hacks to your kiamsiap Christmas without sacrificing all the fun. But in true Christmas spirit, try to spend less and help out those who are less fortunate. You can partake in charity donations or charity gift cards. It’s a great way to celebrate the Christmas time tradition of giving.

If you have the means to spend as you wish, apply la for some credit cards or take advantage of your boost or TnG e-wallet for their cashback incentives too.

Then again, we at Loanstreet would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
