Back in 2020, while houseplants were selling like hotcakes, some people took advantage and disappeared with the money without providing the product. As seen from the screenshots, after the money transaction was completed, the “seller” proceeded to block the buyer without notice and update of the sold plant.

We would like for all of you to be careful and also to not involve yourself in these kinds of activities as you can face both imprisonment up to 5 years or fine, or even both following Section 417 of the Penal Code of Malaysia.

So, please make sure to check the authenticity of the plant and validity of the seller before buying an expensive houseplant. These days, many business scams are seen on the internet where people have lost lots of money, and the houseplants scene is also not excluded.

That being said, we don’t want you to fall into the same trap. Make smart choices and don’t stress yourself out with all the following-the-trend purchases.
